How can I temporarily close my webshop during setup?
You can pause sales while building your store in two ways. Both options are found under Settings > Shop settings:
- Close your website or webshop completely
- Visitors will see a "come back later" message, giving you the freedom to fill your webshop with categories, products, and pages behind the scenes.
- Deactivate the shopping cart
- Your website stays online and browseable, but customers cannot place orders.
SEO tip: To keep your site indexed by Google and other search engines, we recommend deactivating the shopping cart rather than closing your entire webshop. When a webshop is fully closed, search engines may stop indexing it or remove already indexed pages from their results.
