Blog
EasyWebshop comes with a blog and RSS feature included. Posting valuable content and regular updates will help building an audience and will be a reason for visitors to return to your website.
You can find the blog feature at Marketing > Blog.
RSS feed
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a web feed format that allows your visitors to access updates to online news in a standardized, computer-readable format. It enables websites to publish frequently updated information, such as blog posts, news articles, or podcasts, which users can subscribe to using an RSS reader.
Although RSS dates from 1999, it is still popular among many internet users who prefer to read news articles in their interface of preference. A few RSS readers:
- Feedly
- Feedbin
- Feeder (open source Android)
- Miniflux (open source)
- Thunderbird (open source)
When you create a blog, an RSS feed is created automatically for you at yourdomain.com/rss. The RSS icon is shown at the bottom of the blog page. Your visitors can use it to subscribe to your RSS feed.
Adding a blog message
Click the Add new message button.
- Language
- Set the language of your message. If you have a multilingual shop, you can create a blog for each language.
- Title
- The title of your message. Think this through. The title has to contain keywords and attract the attention of your visitors.
- Description for search engines
- This short description gets indexed by search engines. Think about keywords!
- Photo
- By adding a photo, you can get the attention of your visitors. For extra visibility in search engines, the photo receives the same name and ALT attribute as the title of your message.
- Message
- The news or blog message. If desired, you can add extra photos here.
- Visible
- With this option you can choose whether you want to show the blog item on your website.
- Customer feedback
- This option allows you to add a feedback form for your customers so they can add comments to your blog item.
When adding your first visible blog item, a new page Blog will be automatically created with the keyword [WEBSHOP_BLOG] on it. This is the page with an overview of your blog messages. When there are more than 24 blog items, page numbers will be added for navigation to older blog items.
You can edit and optimize this page for search engines with the CMS. For example, you can change Blog to News. You can also insert the [WEBSHOP_BLOG] keyword on other pages or on new pages.
Editing and deleting blog messages
You can edit or delete a message by clicking the Read more button in the overview. On the bottom you will find the Edit and Delete buttons.
Managing reviews or visitor replies
You can reply to comments added by your visitors, or you can delete them. Click on the Read more button of the desired message in the overview. On the bottom you will find the feedback of your customers.
