Is my webshop secure?
Our webshops adhere to rigorous security standards designed to protect your data against theft, loss, and fraud at every stage.
Passwords
Passwords are never stored in plain text. They are secured in our databases using strong, one-way cryptographic hashing, which means neither we nor anyone else can read or retrieve them.
All data, including credentials, is transmitted exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections secured with industry-standard TLS, ensuring confidentiality between the client and our servers.
Payments
All payments - both yours to us and those of your customers to you - are processed directly on the secure payment page of a certified payment provider. These providers maintain their own valid TLS certificates, guaranteeing that the entire payment process is encrypted and PCI DSS compliant.
TLS Certificates
When you register a domain name, a TLS certificate is automatically provisioned and renewed on your behalf, so your webshop is always served securely over HTTPS without any manual intervention.
Server and Platform Security
All of our servers are protected by firewalls and traffic filtering, and are maintained daily with the latest security patches.
Our platform and your webshop are hardened against (D)DoS attacks, SQL injection, and cross-site scripting (XSS), following established security best practices.
Malicious attempts to scan our websites or carry out (D)DoS attacks are automatically detected, blocked, and logged.
E-mail Security
Our mail servers automatically scan all incoming messages for spam and malicious content. Email is sent and received exclusively over encrypted connections using secure SMTP and IMAP protocols (STARTTLS).
Spam Protection
All forms are protected against automated spam submissions. We employ a range of techniques to detect and block non-human activity, while avoiding intrusive CAPTCHAs and puzzles wherever possible for a smooth user experience.
Fraud Prevention
Our webshops are subject to random fraud audits. Should any fraudulent or deceptive activity be identified, the webshop in question is suspended immediately.
You can also report suspected abuse via our fraud report page.
Backups
Webshops, e-mail, and all customer data are backed up daily to a secure off-site location for disaster recovery purposes. Please note that we do not restore data from these backups for individual customers, as the associated effort and cost would be prohibitive.
For day-to-day needs, customers can create their own backups directly within the application at any time.
Redundancy
EasyWebshop runs on redundant server clusters across two separate data centers in Belgium and the Netherlands. Every component of our platform is fully redundant and backed by UPS units, emergency power generators, and multiple independent fiber connections. We do not rely on external cloud services.
Monitoring
Our platform is monitored around the clock, 24/7, to detect attacks and outages in real time. Outages are exceptionally rare: since 2009, we have recorded only a handful of unexpected incidents alongside a small number of planned maintenance windows.
